At an early age, Julia's interest in gardening was inspired by her father, the late Dr. Ed Canipelli and award winning gardener who specialized in camellias and roses. With this deep-rooted passion for plants, flowers and the outdoors, Julia continued to expand her knowledge by planting breath-taking gardens at each place she made a home. Even as a budding designer, friends of Julia began calling upon her talent to help them with designing their own gardens. Through the years, Julia's love for horticulture, plants, flowers, hummingbirds and water features steadily grew deeper.

A native of Jacksonville, Julia returned home 10 years ago. She completed the requirements to become a Master Gardener and volunteered to teach a butterfly and humming bird gardening class to one of Jacksonville's area elementary schools. In addition, Julia has frequently been invited to share her expertise with Garden Club members on topics ranging from Integrated Pest Management, Landscape Design and Care, Creating Butterfly and Humming Bird Gardens. Wild Birds Unlimited has also requested Julia to give lectures on how to Create a Wildlife Habitat in your own back yard. Her own home was featured during The Cummer Museum's Spring Garden Tour of Homes!

A growing passion for Julia is making your landscape a chemical free zone safe for people and pets. The introduction of beneficial nematodes on several of my clients' yards was a great success. Julie Mason, one of my customers, wrote in a recent e-mail, "I was amazed at how effective the use of beneficial nematodes proved to be on our yard. We don't use pesticides because we are a Certified Wildlife Habitat and we want butterflies and birds, so the moles had a field day until we starting putting the beneficial nematodes on it."
